Bio
Corey Marr is a former creative advertising and marketing executive turned producer, now fronting Corey Marr Productions, a Toronto-based film and television production company.
Marr produced Matthew Bissonnette’s Genie-nominated film Who Loves the Sun (2007) starring Lukas Haas, Molly Parker, and Adam Scott, which screened at numerous festivals including AFI FEST, South by Southwest, and the London Film Festival before being released theatrically in Canada and selling well internationally.
His latest film, Passenger Side (2009), also directed by Matthew Bissonnette and starring Adam Scott, Joel Bissonnette, and Robin Tunney, premiered at the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival and has gone on to screen at numerous festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, London Film Festival, and the Edmonton International Film Festival where it was awarded the Best Feature Film prize. Passenger Side has recently been named to “Canada’s Top Ten” films of 2009 by the Toronto International Film Festival. Passenger Side will be distributed in the U.S. by Strand Releasing.
Marr is currently in development on several projects including the Poe-inspired thriller Voices, the screen adaptation of the award-winning novel Clara’s War, and Matt Bissonnette’s adventure comedy Summerteeth. Marr recently participated in IFP No Borders (2008), Rotterdam Producer Lab (2009), Film Independent’s Fast Track program (2009), 2010 Berlinale Co-Production Market, and will be participating in the Producers Lab Toronto taking place during the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.
