11/8/16 is a riveting look at a momentous time as individuals set out on the morning of the presidential election, throughout the course of the day, until the polls close in the evening and the results are revealed. On Election Day 2016, as the country braces itself for a surprising turn of events, a cross-section of Americans go about their day. …In Washington DC, Hillary Clinton’s Director of Video cheerfully anticipates a clear victory; in Massachusetts, a married couple who own a small business spar over how quickly Trump would be able to make America great again; in Utah, a Mormon mother canvases for a third party candidate; in West Virginia, a coal miner worries that the election could lead to the loss of his industry; in San Jose, a group of Mexican American community activists worry that the election could lead to deportation; in Alabama, a recently exonerated death row inmate celebrates his first time voting in more than 30 years; in Philadelphia, NPR’s Dave Davies follows the news of the day as it unfolds; and in Los Angeles, a newsroom at a national newspaper grapples with the next day’s front page as their deadline looms.
